Jembaa Groove

Jembaa Groove is a multicultural band founded in late 2020 by bass player and composer Yannick Nolting and singer-percussionist Eric Owusu. This 7-piece live band combines fresh sounds from Berlin’s underground music scene with traditional West-African sounds from Ghana and Mali.

Their music is a fusion of Afro-Soul, drawing inspiration from Ghana's Highlife genre and the heartbeat of 70s Soul Music. With Eric Owusu on vocals and percussion, Yannick Nolting on bass, Babatunde Agonglo on guitar, Merav Goldman on French Horn, Goncalo Mortagua on saxophone, Moses Yoofee Vester on keys, and Nir Sabag on drums; Jembaa Groove creates a unique sound that blends contemporary influences with rich African rhythms.
