Gene Clark was a highly influential American singer-songwriter and founding member of the folk rock band The Byrds. Born on November 17, 1944 in Tipton, Missouri, he showcased his immense talent through his heartfelt lyrics and soulful vocals. His music captivated audiences with its introspective themes and melodic arrangements.
Throughout his career, Gene Clark's songwriting prowess shone brightly as he penned timeless classics such as "Feel a Whole Lot Better" and "Eight Miles High." His contributions to the folk rock genre continue to inspire musicians today.
Tragically, Gene Clark passed away on May 24, 1991 in Sherman Oaks, California. Despite his untimely death, his legacy lives on through his remarkable body of work that has left an indelible mark on the music industry.

Packaged in a gatefold sleeve with a colour 24-page booklet with album notes and rare photos. Beyond his achievements as a founding member of the Byrds, rock and roll hall of fame inductee Gene Clark was truly one of the most prolific singer/songwriters of the rock era. The album introduces previously unreleased studio sessions from Clark’s pre-Byrds days in 1964 to his 1982 reunion with his former bandmates Chris Hillman and Michael Clarke as Nyteflyte. Since his passing in 1991, many of Gene Clark’s home demo recordings and various live recordings have been released. Actual studio recording sessions were rare and their existence was more rumor than fact until this release. This is essentially an alternative history of Gene Clark’s most productive years as a songwriter.
