Lande Hekt is a talented singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist known for her captivating indie rock sound. With a powerful voice and introspective lyrics, she has gained a dedicated following in the music industry.
Originally from Exeter, England, Lande began her musical journey at a young age, learning to play various instruments including guitar and bass. She honed her skills by performing in local bands before eventually launching her solo career.
Her debut album [album name] showcases Lande's unique blend of catchy melodies and heartfelt storytelling. Drawing inspiration from personal experiences and social issues, she creates music that resonates with listeners on a deep level.

Lande Hekt’s debut album Going to Hell was released in 2021 and was placed in Stereogum’s Album of the Week, Bandcamp’s Album of the Day, and one of AV Club’s ‘17 albums we can’t wait to hear’. The album is a personal and confessional account of Hekt coming out as gay and DIY Magazine called it “A celebration of personal freedom”. Going to Hell came out on queer and trans run DIY label, Get Better Records and gained Lande Hekt a following for her introspective and journal-style lyrics, political themes and catchy, guitar-driven indie rock.

Emotional Response now release the new 7” ‘Romantic’ - a song about struggling to fit in, feeling down and finding comfort in romance. Connecting with someone because you both feel like you don’t belong. “I gravitate towards things that bring me down, I always have, at least I know that now. Never forward, I thought all I had was the past. I used to think each birthday would be my last.” “I sat inside on the brightest, warmest days. Everything I loved would always run away. Misery taught me everything I knew and then there was you.”

The B-Side is a cover of the Wedding Present song ‘Octopussy” from their 1991 album Seamonsters. David Gedge himself said about the cover “Thanks… nice. Always interesting to hear different interpretations!” “God knows I’ve always had to fear the worst, but not that time. You brought me home and then you kissed me first. You were all mine.”
