Roky Erickson was an American singer, songwriter, harmonica player, and guitarist. He was born on July 15, 1947 in Dallas, Texas and sadly passed away on May 31, 2019. Roky was the son of a musician and had two siblings who were also involved in the music industry.
Throughout his career, Roky Erickson made significant contributions to the music world with his unique style and talent. He gained recognition for his skills as a singer and songwriter, as well as his proficiency in playing the harmonica and guitar.
With his diverse musical abilities and captivating performances, Roky Erickson left a lasting impact on the industry. His legacy continues to inspire musicians and fans alike.

Best live recording from Roky’s “comeback” era of 2005-2008 with The Explosives. Recorded at the Bowery Ballroom, New York City on April 15, 2007. This double LP is pressed on white vinyl and includes an exclusive live performance DVD - Roky Erickson and The Explosives ‘Return of the Viking’- filmed August 10, 2007 at Oya Fest (Oslo, Norway).

This is a complete, unedited recording of a fiery performance representative of what Roky Erickson and The Explosives were doing in the 2005-2008 “comeback” years. Excellent song selections and killer performance from top to bottom. Roky is in great voice and the band is in full force. The only official release from this time period.
