A melodic death metal band from Helsingborg, Sweden, Soilwork was founded in 1995 by vocalist Björn "Speed" Strid and guitarist Peter Wichers. Originally known as Inferior Breed, the group changed their name to Soilwork in 1996. Over the years, the band's sound has evolved with each release, eventually gaining a commercial appeal that allowed them to break out of the underground scene. Their album "Figure Number Five" in 2003 solidified their status as one of Sweden's most successful metal bands alongside In Flames.

The current line-up includes *Björn "Speed" Strid* on vocals since 1995, *Sven Karlsson* on keyboards since 2001, *Sylvain Coudret* on guitars since 2008, *David Andersson* on guitars until his unfortunate passing in 2022, *Bastian Thusgaard* on drums since 2017, and *Rasmus Ehrnborn* as a touring member on bass since 2019.
