BMG Rights Management, formerly known as Bertelsmann Music Group, is a global music conglomerate with a rich history in the industry. Originally formed in 1985 as a joint venture between Bertelsmann AG and RCA, BMG has since evolved into a powerhouse of music production and distribution.

In 1986, Bertelsmann acquired full ownership of RCA and Arista Records through the purchase of their joint venture's stock from General Electric. The Kinks are an English rock band formed in Muswell Hill, North London, in 1963. The band was founded by brothers Ray and Dave Davies, along with Pete Quaife and Mick Avory. Throughout their career, The Kinks have explored various styles of rock music. In 2018, Ray Davies announced that the band had reformed for a new studio album and potential live performances. The Kinks were inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall of Fame in 1990.

Having closed out their hard-rock period, the Kinks went pastoral on Something Else. It's an album of folk and pop songs about the quiet pleasures of family life and the English countryside, dotted with harpsichords, acoustic guitars, and ethereal harmonies. a radical rejection of the age of aquarius, it was one of the boldest pop albums of its time, a commercial failure but an artistic landmark. In 'Two Sisters,' Ray Davies sings about a wild, swinging woman and her homemaking sister, and dares to side with the latter. other songs include 'Afternoon Tea,' surely the first rock song ever written on that subject, and the majestic 'Waterloo Sunset,' which has been described as the most beautiful song ever written in the english language.
