Tim Hardin was an American folk musician, songwriter, and composer. Born on December 23, 1941 in Eugene, Oregon, USA, he left a lasting impact on the music industry before his untimely death on December 29, 1980 in Los Angeles, California. 

Hardin's talent as a songwriter is evident through his popular hits such as "If I Were a Carpenter," which has been covered by notable artists including *Bobby Darin*, *Joan Baez*, *Johnny Cash*, *The Four Tops*, and *Robert Plant*.
