Gathered together by series creator Jason Lee Lazell, this is an epic 8CD deluxe version of some of the greatest and most influential jazz scores of the period, and some unsung and undiscovered scores that deserve more attention. These soundtracks cover a spectrum of 1950s and 1960s jazz material, from some of the most skilled musicians of the time, and are presented here in the high quality digital remastered versions you would expect from Moochin' About. The set is accompanied by a full colour 106 page booklet, with sleeve notes by film historian Keith M. Johnston that places these soundtracks and composers in their historical context. Foreword to this release has been written by British film director Mike Leigh OBE, who's films include, Life is Sweet, Naked, Career Girls, Topsy-Turvy, Vera Drake and Mr Turner. The sequel to Moochin' About's stunning 2013 release (that focused mostly on the French New Wave), 'The New Wave II' takes a more global perspective on the range of cinematic 'New Waves' that sprang up in the 1950s and through the 1960s. It features Tubby Hayes, Eddy Manson, Michel Legrand, David Raskin and more.
