Record Store Day is an annual event inaugurated in 2007 to "celebrate the culture of the independently owned record store". Held on one Saturday every April and every Black Friday in November, the day brings together fans, artists, and thousands of independent record stores around the world.

While She Sleeps is a metalcore band hailing from Sheffield, England. With their powerful and energetic sound, they have become a force to be reckoned with in the music industry. Since their formation in 2006, the band has maintained a consistent lineup consisting of Sean Long on lead guitar and backing vocals, Mat Welsh on rhythm guitar, piano, and vocals, Aaran McKenzie on bass and backing vocals, Adam "Sav" Savage on drums and percussion, and Lawrence "Loz" Taylor as the lead vocalist since 2009. While She Sleeps' dedication to their craft has earned them a loyal fanbase worldwide.
Past member Jordan Widdowson contributed his talents as the lead vocalist during the early years of While She Sleeps before parting ways in 2009. Despite this change in lineup, the band continued to evolve musically while staying true to their signature metalcore style.

Spinefarm is a Finnish record label that was founded in 1990 by Riku Pääkkönen. Originally starting as a mailorder and distribution company for rock and metal releases, Spinefarm quickly expanded to release albums from Finnish metal bands. In 2002, Spinefarm became part of Universal Music when Universal Music Oy became the majority shareholder of Spin-Farm Oy, the record company that runs Spinefarm. In 2005, Universal bought the entire company and merged it with Universal Music Oy on December 31st, 2014.

Although founder Riku Pääkkönen left the company in 2011, he continued working on [l532289], a sub-label of Spinefarm. With two regional offices outside of Finland - Spinefarm UK in London and Spinefarm US in New York - they cover other territories through Caroline/Universal Music or local distribution partners.

Known for their expertise in distribution, Spinefarm has been credited under their name for various releases. With their rich history and strong ties to the metal music scene, Spinefarm remains an influential force within the industry.

Sheffield heroes While She Sleeps nailed a clear manifesto to the wall with their 2019 album: So What?. The band’s fourth full-length effort saw the crystallisation of their role as pioneers and sonic adventurers the UK alternative scene, with singles such as ‘Anti-Social’ sounding the siren for experimentation and creativity to all those that could hear. 
 
 The album also bore the beginning of the band’s relationship with Spinefarm Records, the collaborative successes of which are celebrated through this tantalising half-red, half-white exclusive 2LP pressing of So What? for Record Store Day 2023.
