Art Farmer

Art Farmer was an American jazz trumpeter and flugelhorn player, born on August 21, 1928 in Council Bluffs, Iowa. He played in the ORF Big Band from 1971 to 1977 and was known for his unique sound. Art Farmer's late career saw him exclusively playing the custom designed flumpet, a hybrid instrument combining qualities of both trumpet and flugelhorn. He passed away on October 4, 1999 in New York City.

Throughout his career, Art Farmer made significant contributions to the world of jazz music with his exceptional talent and versatility as a musician. His mastery of both the trumpet and flugelhorn allowed him to create a distinct sound that captivated audiences worldwide.
