Boom Bip

Bryan Hollon, known by his stage name Boom Bip, is a versatile artist who began his musical journey in the early 1990s. Initially drawn to instruments like guitars, drums, and pianos, he later ventured into turntables and discovered a passion for hip hop sample material found on classic jazz and funk albums.

Boom Bip's talent as a DJ quickly gained recognition, leading him to release his first record with Mush Records in 1996. His breakthrough album "Circle," created in collaboration with rapper Dose One, caught the attention of legendary John Peel on BBC Radio. This led to two Peel Sessions and further exposure for Boom Bip.

In 2001, Boom Bip signed with Lex Records, a sublabel of Warp Records. He released his first record on Lex in 2002 and had the opportunity to perform at renowned festivals such as Glastonbury, Pukkelpop, and Coachella. Throughout his career, Boom Bip has also produced successful remixes for notable artists including Mogwai, Boards Of Canada, Venetian Snares, Lali Puna, M83,and Oasis.
