Demolition 23

Demolition 23 was a rock band formed in 1993 in New York by former Hanoi Rocks frontman Michael Monroe and ex-Star Star guitarist Jay Hening. They started as a covers band, playing live shows in New York with guest appearances from friends such as Sebastian Bach and Kory Clarke. Their debut album, recorded at Power Station Studios and produced by Little Steven, featured tracks that showcased their punk roots. Despite lineup changes due to injury and tour restrictions, Demolition 23 remains a significant moment for fans of the classic Hanoi Rocks lineup.

Demolition 23 was initially a covers band formed in 1993 in New York by Michael Monroe (former frontman of Hanoi Rocks) and Jay Hening (ex-guitarist of Star Star). The band gained attention for their live shows featuring guest appearances from music industry friends like Sebastian Bach and Kory Clarke. Their eponymous debut album, produced by Little Steven at Power Station Studios, paid homage to their punk roots with tracks like Same Shit Different Day and covers of songs by Johnny Thunders, UK Subs, and The Dead Boys.

In 1994, Jay Hening's road accident led to his replacement on guitar by Nasty Suicide after being denied entry to the UK for a European tour. With three former members on board, Demolition 23's touring lineup resembled a reunion of Hanoi Rocks since its breakup in 1985.
