The Bottle Rockets

Brian Henneman released a solo single called Indianapolis in 1992, which led to the formation of The Bottle Rockets. With Tom Parr, Tom Ray, and Mark Ortmann, they revived much of their previous band's repertoire. Their third album, 24 Hours A Day, was released under Atlantic Records. Over time, the lineup changed with Robert Kearns joining on bass for Brand New Year. In 2001, they signed with Bloodshot Records and paid tribute to Doug Sahm with their release Songs Of Sahm. John Horton replaced Tom Parr in 2003 and Keith Voegele took over for Robert Kearns in March 2005.

The Bottle Rockets have been influential in the alternative country genre and are often compared to artists such as Slobberbone, Blue Mountain, and Son Volt. Their music captures a raw energy reminiscent of Jason & The Scorchers and Old 97's while also exploring heartfelt lyrics like Todd Snider and Ryan Adams & The Cardinals.

If you enjoy the sounds of Golden Smog or Drive-By Truckers mixed with the storytelling style of Hayes Carll or Chuck Prophet, then The Bottle Rockets should be on your playlist. Their discography showcases their growth as musicians while staying true to their roots.
