Ace Of Cups is an American rock band that was formed in San Francisco in 1967. They were one of the first all-female rock bands and gained recognition for their unique sound and talent. The band consisted of Mary Gannon on bass, Marilyn/Marla Hunt on organ and piano, Denise Kaufman (also known as Denise Jewkes) on guitar and harmonica, Mary Ellen Simpson on lead guitar, and Diane Vitalich (also known as Diane Hursh) on drums.

During their time together, Ace Of Cups showcased their musical prowess through powerful performances and captivating compositions. Their music resonated with audiences who appreciated their distinctive blend of rock, folk, and psychedelic influences.

Although the band disbanded in 1972, Ace Of Cups left a lasting impact on the music industry. Their contributions to the rock genre paved the way for future female artists to break barriers and pursue careers in a male-dominated industry. Today, they are remembered as trailblazers who defied conventions and created a space for women in rock music.

Sing Your Dreams, the new album by pioneering all-women combo Ace of Cups, arrives on the heels of their warmly-received 2018 debut; a welcome return to the Ace’s overflowing vessel of melody, harmony, poetry and good vibrations. Joined by friends such as Jackson Browne, Sheila E., Bob Weir and more, the band taps into an easy-riding bedrock of blues and soul, infused with folk and world music rhythms, and an innate understanding of the power of song. Their passion and creative persistence fueled their evolution from beloved fixture of the ‘60s San Francisco music scene to cultural and musical icons, and has inspired accolades all over the world. A feature documentary about Ace of Cups, by acclaimed filmmaker Michelle Esrick, is currently in production.
