Cibo Matto is a New York City-based band formed by two Japanese women, Yuka Honda and Miho Hatori, in 1994. After disbanding in 2001, they reunited in 2011 for benefit concerts and released their third full-length album, Hotel Valentine, in 2014.
Their unique sound blends elements of trip-hop, alternative rock, and electronic music with lyrics that touch on themes of food, love, and cultural identity. Cibo Matto's music has been described as eclectic and playful, featuring catchy melodies and inventive instrumentation.
