<p>Phish is an American rock band known for their musical improvisation, extended jams, blending of genres, and dedicated fan base. They formed at the University of Vermont in 1983 and solidified their current lineup in 1986. The band consists of Trey Anastasio on guitars and lead vocals, Mike Gordon on bass and vocals, Jon Fishman on drums, percussion, and vocals, and Page McConnell on keyboards and vocals. After performing together for nearly 20 years, they took a break in August 2004 but reunited in March 2009. Since then, Phish has been regularly performing.</p>

Phish's ninth full-length studio album. The majority of songs on the album, including the title track, were derived from 1997 writing sessions at Vermont farmhouses. 'Farmhouse' was recorded and mixed by John Siket in fall 1999 and winter 2000 at The Barn studio in Vermont. Trey arranged the horns for "Gotta Jibboo" (Dave Grippo, Jen Hartswick, Andy Moroz) and strings for "Dirt" and the acoustic instrumental "The Inlaw Josie Wales", which included Béla Fleck on banjo and Jerry Douglas on dobro.
