Roy Brooks was an American jazz drummer born on 9 March 1938 in Detroit, Michigan, USA. He passed away on 15 November 2005 in the same city. Known for his exceptional talent and contribution to the jazz scene, Brooks left a lasting impact on the music industry.

Throughout his career, Roy Brooks collaborated with numerous renowned artists such as *Clifford Jordan Quartet*, *Charles Tolliver*, *Billy Harper*, and many others. His drumming skills were highly regarded and he was often sought after by fellow musicians for his rhythmic expertise.
