<p>The Brian Jonestown Massacre is an American musical outfit led by frontman Anton Newcombe, formed in San Francisco in 1990. Their early music was in a shoegaze style; following their debut album, Methodrone, the group's sound transitioned to a broader style of psychedelic rock, incorporating styles such as garage rock, folk rock and later electronica into their sound. The act continues to experiment with musical styles.</p>

2013 release. Originally released in 2004. This is the first time The Brian Jonestown Massacre have been the subject of a retrospective and is the perfect introduction to the majestic psychedelic pop of Anton Newcombe and co. This 38-track compilation spans the years 1995-2004, featuring key tracks from all their albums as well as live recordings and many unreleased tracks. The Brian Jonestown Massacre is a psychedelic rock band originally from San Francisco, California, led by guitarist/singer Anton Newcombe. Since 1995 The Brian Jonestown Massacre has released numerous albums, first for Bomp! Records, the label which gave them their start, and later for TVT and Tee Pee. BJM has been essential in the development of the modern U.S. garage scene, and many L.A. and SF musicians got their start playing with Newcombe, including Peter Hayes of The Black Rebel Motorcycle Club.
