Akarma

Akarma is an independent Italian rock reissue label based in La Spezia, Liguria, Italy. Founded in 1998 by [founder names], the label specializes in late-60s and ‘70s rock, prog-rock, and blues psychedelia. With a focus on vinyl releases, Akarma initially pressed early releases on colored or black vinyl with heavy cardboard covers. Over time, the label expanded to include CD editions in digipak format and began releasing CDs in cardboard sleeves imitating classic LP covers known as "Karmapack." The label's releases have become known for their graphic variations and attention to detail. While some of Akarma's releases may be of questionable legitimacy, they continue to provide music enthusiasts with high-quality reissues.

Early Akarma releases featured white A-side center labels with track listings for both sides and B-side labels showcasing color illustrations without text. As the label evolved, the B-side center label design changed to feature an image of the eye of providence with a meditating man. Rim text was added to the left side of the A-side center label. CD editions started including barcodes and displayed the website address (www.akarmarecords.com) on their covers.

In around 2000, Akarma introduced "Karmapack" designs for CD releases – gatefold cardboard sleeves resembling classic LP covers. Back covers began featuring release years around 2001/2002 as a standard
